Anxiety cures and the elderly
Working with elderly patients poses its own unique set of challenges for most doctors, and I’m no different. I always wanted to work in geriatrics and now that I have my wish I’m wondering if perhaps I should’ve chosen another specialty. For example, one of the things I’m faced with on a daily basis is trying to come up with anxiety cures for people who are so used to taking medication on a daily basis, that they won’t listen to any solution that doesn’t involve them popping a pill. It’s funny how this older generation seems to trust pharmaceuticals more than people born after World War II.
