Changes in Dentistry: Dental Software

A few years ago I was in my doctor’s office having a routine teeth cleaning and happened to glance over to the corner of the room where a computer was positioned. It had not occurred to me that this computer might have dental software loaded.  With a suction wand in my mouth and an ultrasonic wand scaling away at my teeth I was able to read what was on the computer screen.  I realized I was reading my patient chart and have to admit I was a little uncomfortable noticing my name and my teeth up on the screen for all to see. I have to admit I was very impressed that someone had ingeniously come up with the idea of dental software.  Why didn’t I think of that?
