Hearing Aid Types and Information

There are four  hearing aid types that include:

1. Conventional hearing aids – the volume can be adjusted up or down but if the individuals hearing loss level changes, the manufacturer must adjust this, which is inconvenient.

2. Digital hearing aids –It is the most convenient type. It is comfortable to wear and the level of sound adjusts itself automatically. It costs more than conventional and programmable hearing aids.

3. Programmable hearing aids – this one also adjusts by itself but can be pre programmed and therefore more advanced.

4. Disposable hearing aids – it is similar to conventional hearing aids in sound quality but less expensive than technologically advanced hearing aids. Its shelf life is very short which is  less than 40 days.

It is still recommended to consult an ear doctor that will help you choose the best hearing aid types for your needs, budget and lifestyle.
