Know What To Do When You Have TMJ Dysfunction Before Playing Sports Games? TMJ Surgery?

Majority of the sports games that you may want to play deals with a lot of close physical contact and it’s self-explainable why a lot of people are getting injured like broken bones and flying teeth.  Now, imagine if you have TMJ or temporomandibular joint syndrome, how would it feel if you’re playing out there while you’re experiencing unbearable pains and teeth-clenching?  How much more if they get in contact with other people?  Surely, you wouldn’t want to be picking up pieces of your jaw spreading all throughout a football field or a basketball court now, would you?  TMJ is a condition in which the temporomandibular joint can’t function properly. This is the joint that connects the temporal bone with the mandible and if they’re being overused especially to just one side of your jaw, they can be a burden for you or if you have any tooth problems and you ignore going to your dentist, the worse thing that could happen to you is TMJ surgery. Yes, a surgery can be the worst thing that can happen to you depending on the situation or case-to-case basis.  However, if you want to have a peace of mind and you want to eliminate TMJ dysfunction forever, why not go for TMJ exercises instead?
