Understanding Panic Attacks
The first experience of a panic attack is significant for most people. They are often confused as to why their body was working against them. This leads to a fear of not being able to control their feelings and future panic attacks. All of these negative thoughts create a cycle of anxious thoughts that can create long-term mental health issues if not treated. The number one contributor to prolonged anxiety disorders is ignorance. Patients simply don’t know how to treat their condition or why it occurs. Recognizing what causes panic attacks is one of the first steps to overcoming them. Educating the patient and their family on this overwhelming condition helps to stabilize future fears and concerns.
